BUSINESS REPORTING - HOW IT WORKS

Collection of Data, Report Generation and Delivery of Information

  1. Install an iReports Delivery Agent (iDA) in your and/or your clients’ local area network where the ODBC compliant applications / databases can be found. Only one installation is required on a given local area network to obtain data from multiple sources;

  2. Establish a secure relationship between an iDA and a dedicated site account associated with an iWebGate Portal Server regardless of its location. It is important to note that the iDA supplies administrators with a level of security and control by only communicating with their dedicated iWebGate Portal Server(s);

  3. Queries and report templates (e.g. .rpt) are uploaded into the iWebGate Portal Server ready for the iDA and embedded reporting engine;

  4. Administrators schedule when data is to be securely sent from the iDA to their iWebGate Portal Server(s) and they can use the ‘run now’ option to send information and run reports on demand from their iWebGate Portal Server(s);

  5. Data is automatically sent at scheduled times over a secure connection by the iDA to the iWebGate Portal Server where the embedded reporting engine then generates the reports making it the ideal set–and–forget reporting solution;

  6. Reports are available on demand both locally and remotely to nominated users within the iWebGate Portal Server based on a secure permission-based folder structure which is more secure (e.g. packet sniffing) and convenient than having reports sent via email.

  7. Importantly, event triggered alerts (e.g. cash at bank low – check portal) via Email and SMS can also be sent to key stakeholders informing them of conditions when they occur.
